The 2015 Kia Sedona represents a new era of midsize multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs).

The 2015 Sedona is the first Kia vehicle to offer a UVO Infotainment and Telematics system with four all-new eServices features: Geo-fencing, Speed Alert, Curfew Alert and Driving Score. With the introduction of the Kia App store, select apps can also be downloaded for free from iTunes or Google Play. Other technologies like Siri Eyes Free, Local Search — powered by Google — for finding locations, addresses, and points of interest, and Sirius XM Travel Link, offering access to traffic, weather, fuel prices, sports scores, stock information and movie times are also available.

The all-new Sedona offers new features like high-power (2.1 Amp) USB charging ports and 115-volt AC outlets as well as a dual glove box that offers a cooled lower storage area. Available Surround View Monitor provides real-time images from cameras placed around the vehicle while Smart Welcome automatically illuminates door handles and unfolds the power retractable side mirrors when the vehicle key fob is detected. A Smart Power Liftgate automatically opens the rear liftgate when the key fob is sensed for three seconds and can be programmed depending on the driver’s height preference.

The Sedona is redesigned to have a sporty, CUV-like appearance and comes in three new trim levels: L, SX and the premium SX Limited, in addition to the existing LX and EX trims. Its wheelbase is 1.6-inches longer than its predecessor, and it has LED taillights, integrated bumper guard and a standard roof spoiler.

Seven- and eight-passenger seating is available with the choice of second row first class lounge seating that can be positioned backward for more legroom, retractable lower-leg rests and airplane-style winged headrests. All 2015 Sedona models offer a third-row split folding 60/40 in-floor retractable design. The Sedona is offered in solid or two-tone color options in beige, gray and burgundy. The top-line SX Limited trim features standard ultra-soft Nappa leather trim seating surfaces.

In addition to standard active safety features like Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control System, Brake Assist System, Hill-start Assist Control, Electronic Brake Force Distribution and Antilock Braking System, Roll Over Mitigation and Cornering Brake Control, the 2015 Sedona offers new optional driver aid technology including: Vehicle Stability Management, Forward Collision Warning System, Smart Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

The Sedona has an all-new chassis with static torsional stiffness, and the body is 76-percent advanced high-strength or press-hardened steel. Amplitude Selected Dampers along with independent rear suspension are also included. Wheelhouse padding, double seal sliding doors and expanded use of sound-deadening foam in the engine compartment reduce noise.

A Lambda Gasoline Direct Injection 3.3-liter V6 engine provides makes the 2015 Sedona more powerful than before with 276 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, and is tuned for mid-range torque, offering 248 pounds per foot at 5,200 rpm. It is combined with a six-speed Sport-Matic transmission.

A three-step Variable Induction System improves engine breathing by automatically adjusting the intake runner lengths to optimize engine torque depending on the load. Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing and piston-cooling oil jet improves engine efficiency.

The starting MSRP for a 2015 Kia Sedona is $25,900. A top of the line SX Limited with a technology package and 19-inch chrome alloy wheels costs about $39,700.
