June 8, 2022—Several businesses in Chesterfield County, Virginia are reeling after a string of vandalism resulted in many slashed tires.

According to ABC 8 News, a total of 54 tires were slashed across various locations including seven vehicles at One Stop Auto Repair and 14 at Haley Toyota. Additionally, there were two cars and a trailer with slashed tires at RNR Tire Express.

“I was a nervous wreck, I didn’t know what to do,” said Jerry Jacobson, owner of One Stop Auto Repair in the article. “I have customers who rely on our services and I feel like he took something away from me and the customers that’s hard to replace.”

Security cameras from Jacobson's shop captured the vandal in action at around 1:30 a.m. Jacobson turned the surveillance video over to police and he is working to notify the customers whose vehicles were affected.

“To have someone trust their vehicle to us and have this happen breaks my heart,” Jacobson said.

According to Jacobson, the damage will cost around $2,500 to $3,000. Anyone who has information about the vandalism is encouraged to call Chesterfield County Police or Crime Solvers.
