Over 600 members of the Big O Tires community gathered in Dallas, Texas for the first time in three years.

Aug. 3, 2022—Big O Tires recently celebrated its 60 year anniversary at convention.

According to a press release, over 600 Big O Tires franchise owners, managers, suppliers, and corporate associations got together in Dallas, Texas for the first time in three years.

The theme throughout the convention was "Only the Beginning." Brian Maciak was officially introduced as President and Chief Operating Officer of the brand by Jim Bull, who retired from the position in July.

“Big O is a legendary brand with a solid foundation and I am excited to be a part of its next chapter,” said Maciak, according to the press release. “True to the convention theme, this is only the beginning as Big O is poised for growth and success through the strength of its franchisees.”

Speaker Jason Dorsey delivered the keynote speech.

Attendees were able to help package 700 school supply bags for Edward Titche Elementary School in Dallas as an homage to the Big O Tires Scholarship Fund. In total, almost $150,000 was raised by participants for the fund.

There were also several awards presented at the convention:

  • Standing "O" Award given to Rick Zirges, a franchisee in the Arizona region; Mike Ledbetter, Regional Operations Manager for Big O Tires; and Clark Brown, a consultant for Navex Global.
  • Point of Light Award given to franchisee Laura Foote.
  • Franchisee of the Year given to Kent Coleman, a multi-store owner in Utah; and Dutch Tryon, a single-store store owner in Kansas.
  • Mitch Beranek, Greg Kimberlin, and the late Bill Skidmore were inducted into the Big O Tires Hall of Fame.
