Aug. 17, 2022

A Midas location in West Palm Beach, Florida, will host a free event in conjunction with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office to engrave catalytic converters.

Aug. 16, 2022—A Midas location in West Palm Beach, Florida, will host a free catalytic converter etching event.

According to a press release, location owner Ron Katz has decided to partner with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office to engrave VIN identification on the catalytic converters of those who attend the Aug. 20 event.

The free event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and appointments will not be required, but are preferred. Katz will have BBQ available for those attending the event, and Oneblood will be present to accept blood donations from those interested in participating. Individuals who donate blood are eligible for a free oil change.

Catalytic converter theft continues to be a nationwide problem. The goal with etching events such as these is to both deter theft and have the ability to trace the catalytic converter back to its owner if stolen.
