Mo. Repair Shops Seeing Spike in Hyundai, Kia Thefts

Nov. 7, 2022

A spike in thefts in the St. Louis area is not helping the parts shortage for local repair shops.

Nov. 7, 2022—Shops in St. Louis, Mo., are seeing lots of Hyundai and Kia vehicles coming in with missing or damaged parts related to theft.

KMOV reports that one shop, Everything Automotive in St. Louis City, has done about 20 of those repairs in the past month.

Complicating the issue is that the parts shortage means it takes parts much longer to arrive, and they're harder and more expensive to source from junkyards.
