Nov. 8, 2022—The National Honor Society at Coloma High School in Michigan recently partnered with the school's CTE shop program to provide free oil changes.

According to WNDU 16 News Now, residents were invited into the school's auto shop program for the first time for the free service. The goal was to help students get more under-the-hood experience and to help local residents save money. This is an initiative that the school hopes to do again.

“I’d say in total we have around 25 kids from NHS and the auto club doing the oil changes and setting it up and doing all the behind-the-scenes work to make sure we have everything smooth. Once the car pulls in, they have the right oil, they have the right filter, they’re good to go,” said Tyler Cantrell, a sponsor for the Coloma High School National Honor Society to WNDU 16 News Now.
