Pecheles Automotive recently celebrated its 50th anniversary.
The business, which opened its doors in 1966 with just 13 employees, now includes eight brands across three eastern Carolina cities. Its first location consisted of one builiding on Greenville Boulevard. Known then as Joe Pecheles Motors, Inc., it was Greenville’s first import brand dealership. It sold only Volkswagens until 1988.
Over the years, several franchises have been added, including Audi in 1988, then Mitsubishi in 1989, and Hyundai in 1991. Since 2000, Pecheles Automotive has grown to include two other locations: Pecheles Ford-Toyota in Washington and Pecheles Honda in New Bern.
“The Pecheles Automotive family is honored to have been part of the greater Greenville and Eastern North Carolina community for the past 50 years,” said Brian Pecheles, President of Pecheles Automotive. “Especially during this time of celebration, we are incredibly grateful for our dedicated staff and, most of all, our loyal customers who have allowed us to serve them.”
In mid-2016, Pecheles Automotive expects to begin construction on a new Audi facility at the corner of Evans Street and Red Banks Road.
