Almost Time for 2016

So long 2015, thanks for the memories. I can’t believe 2015 is almost over. But you know what they say, “Time flies when you’re having fun.” This year has been fun. So long 2015, thanks for the memories. I can’t believe 2015 is almost over. But you know what they say, “Time flies when you’re having fun.” This year has been fun. Many shops are reporting a better than expected year, and many are already forecasting 2016 to be record breaking.

As I write this, the National Oil & Lube News team has returned from the APPEX/SEMA show with a renewed energy. Many of the manufacturers are also expecting 2016 to be a banner year and are rolling out new programs, equipment, tools and incentives to make the most out of the New Year. All this excitement has reminded me we do not say thank you enough to our manufacturers and supply companies that play an important role in keeping this industry going. We are fortunate to have such a strong foundation thanks to our manufacturers and suppliers.

If this year is like most, you are in the middle of the best time of the year, but I hope you will take a minute to read Kit Sullivan’s piece on the customer’s perception. Ed Newman’s back to the future column is a good one, too. It’s all about change and is a good reminder that it’s our responsibility to keep our customers informed about what is best for their vehicles. We need to hear these messages more often but especially when we are busy. I’ve saved the best for last because I’d like to congratulate our 2015 Operator of the Year, Ron Morrow. Read his story on pg. 12, and you’ll see why we had to honor all he’s done for our industry.

Merry Christmas to all, and cheers to 2016! We can’t wait to see what the New Year has in store!
