Survey: Layoffs Likely With $15 Minimum Wage

Overall, 54% of respondents opposed raising the minimum wage. 

Feb. 12, 2021—One-third of small businesses anticipate laying off workers if federal minimum wage increases to $15 an hour, CNBC reported.

In a CNBC and SurveyMonkey survey of more than 2,000 small business owners, 20 percent of respondents said they would be forced to lay off workers while another 13 percent said they’d likely lay off part of their workforce. 

Overall, 54 percent of respondents opposed raising the minimum wage.
