The three-bay car service, Fast Track Oil Change, is now open for business in Middleton, California. Store 24 owner opened the shop after learning that many South Lake County residents, who commute far for work, have no local shop for a car oil change. A drive-thru coffee shop, attached to Fast Track, is underway.
After seeing many South Lake County residents — who already commute to as far as San Francisco for work — have to drive farther away from home to receive a car oil change, he decided to offer service locally.
Middletown’s Store 24 owner Palani Velloo opened Fast Track Oil Change just a couple weeks ago, making the business — adjacent to Store 24 — the only car service nearby for residents in Middletown, Cobb and Hidden Valley Lake.
“We have about 4,000 people living in Hidden Valley Lake, 3,000 in Cobb Mountain and 3,000 in Middletown,” Velloo said. “People work in Santa Rosa, Marina, and San Francisco. By coming here, they have a place that’s close by and don’t have to travel far for an oil change.”
The closest location, according to Velloo, for South Lake County residents is in Clearlake.
Fast Track has had much success since its start in late June, leaving customers saying, “It’s about time,” according to a Store 24 employee. Velloo said the business had helped about 200 customers so far, averaging 10 vehicles per day. He added that a third of customers are from Hidden Valley Lake.
The business offers oil changes, tire rotations, battery and air filter services. So far, two out of the three bays are open for use. In about three to six months, Velloo said the third bay would open and a mechanic, who will offer brake and alignment work, will also be available.
Fast Track Oil Change will have a ribbon cutting event on Thursday, August 16 and is located at 21016 South State Hwy 29.
