Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is getting a lot of exposure for its vehicles from Pope Francis' visit to the U.S.
He traveled via a Fiat 500L to Washington, D.C., after his arrival at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland on Tuesday. Then during today's motorcade at the National Mall in Washington, D.C., Pope Francis greeted the faithful from a specially outfitted Jeep Wrangler.
The white Wrangler used by the pope has a glass-front roof with open sides, allowing the popular pontiff greater proximity to his flock than popemobiles of the past, which were typically closed, bulletproof affairs.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, the Italian-American maker of Jeep and Fiat, has not disclosed the configuration of the popemobile.
