On Saturday, August 15, Dahl Automotive will host the seventh annual Lube-A-Thon fundraiser to benefit Family & Children's Center. During the event, the three Dahl stores in Onalaska and La Crosse, Wis. and Winona, Minn. will shut down their service departments for the day and offer free oil changes for a minimum $10 donation and car washes for a minimum $3 donation to the Family & Children's Center. The event will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Over the last five years, Dahl Automotive has raised over $75,000 for local nonprofits through their annual Lube-A-Thon. This year the funds raised will support the Family & Children's Center's child abuse prevention programs Healthy Families, Hope Academy, and Stepping Stones in La Crosse and Matty's Place in Winona.
Healthy Families is a home visiting program that helps parents of newborns cope with the stress of caring for an infant. Hope Academy is an alternative high school for pregnant and parenting teen moms, where they can complete their high school credentials and care for their child simultaneously. Stepping Stones and Matty's Place are children's advocacy centers where alleged victims of abuse can be interviewed by specially trained professionals in a safe, child-friendly setting. All four programs rely on community contributions to operate.
Through this fundraiser and other annual support from Dahl Automotive, the company is showing its dedication to Family & Children's Center's True Blue initiative to end child abuse in our community.
The event is run completely by volunteers; including Dahl team members, Family & Children's Center representatives and family members of both organizations. With all the supplies donated by many generous sponsors, 100% of the event proceeds go directly to Family & Children's Center.
