It may not have quite the style of the original, but the new 'Ecto-1' from the upcoming all-female Ghostbusters reboot still has a distinct retro charm.

Director Paul Feig tweeted out a photo of the new ghost-busting machine that will carry Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon straight to the latest location of supernatural activity.
The original 'Ecto-1' was a 1959 Cadillac ambulance, but for the remake, Feig and company decided to go a more morbid route. If you look closely at the red vinyl tonneau that adorns the roof and rear of the wagon, you'll see a lantern and a landau bar on the side, indicating that this new chariot is, in fact, a hearse.
Luckily, they decided to keep the 'Ecto-1' in the Cadillac family, choosing a 1980s Fleetwood wagon as the base. While it doesn't quite look the part like the original did, it's still refreshing to see a retro choice for the starring vehicular role. At least it's not a modern crossover.
