Mass. Inspection Sticker Rules Change

Nov. 4, 2022

The date on Massachusetts' inspection stickers received a small change.

Nov. 4, 2022—The Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles has changed its inspection sticker rules a bit to help drivers comply with expirations.

WGBH reports that stickers will no longer show the date in which the vehicle was last inspected. Instead, the date will show a future date to indicate when the next inspection is due.

If a driver is late on the annual inspection, the new sticker will still reflect the original yearlong interval. The change took effect on Nov. 1.
