Supply Delays Hitting Quick Maintenance Shops

Feb. 28, 2022

Costs and time of service have increased for many shops, according to a recent report.

Feb. 28, 2022—A report from Cars.com detailed the service delays caused by parts shortages and delivery issues.

The article says that the basics of automotive maintenance care, such as oil changes, aren't disrupted to the point of increasing service times. But items like brake parts, batteries, filters and tires can disrupt more intensive services.

The story also cited a survey of repair shops that said vehicle turnaround time has increased by a day and a half since the pandemic began. Costs for the shops and ultimately the consumers have increased as well.
