Feb. 15, 2022—Take 5 Oil Change is awaiting zoning approval to build a new shop in central Illinois.
According to a report from Patch, the quick lube brand is waiting on a special use permit to be approved by the zoning board for the city of Joliet, a southwestern suburb of Chicago about 45 miles from downtown.
If the permit is approved, Take 5 would be able to use a vacant 1.1-acre parcel of land that used to be home to a Hyundai dealership lot. The location would have three service bays, a small office area and a restroom.
The Joliet Zoning Board meets Thursday, Feb. 17, and will decide then whether to approve the permit application.
