Exxon, Union to Meet on Refinery Lockout

Both sides will talk during a labor lockout at a plant that produces engine oil.

June 11, 2021—ExxonMobil and United Steelworkers union representatives will meet to discuss a labor dispute at a Texas refinery.

Reuters reports that Exxon locked out workers after a labor contract expired for 650 workers at a Beaumont refinery. Exxon wants to create separate contracts for refinery and lubricant plant workers, according to the story.

The plant produces both gasoline and Mobil 1 oil products.
