Ford is adding to its list of temporary closures because there aren't enough computer chips to install.

May 20, 2021—Stoppages at auto plants are continuing due to the chip shortage that's disrupting the industry.

One of the latest comes from Ford, which announced that its Dearborn, Mich., and Kansas City plants will have temporarily shutdowns in late May and mid-June, reports Cnet Roadshow.

That's among a group of Ford plants that will have temporary shutdowns due to the chip shortage. Other OEMs have announced similar moves. Cnet reports that the shortage is also raising prices for potential car buyers, meaning that more people could put off that new car purchase.
