March 19, 2021—Nearly $15,000 has been raised in support of Gordon’s Quick Lube and Repair, which burned to the ground on March 13, the Mendocino Voice reported.

The fire completely destroyed the building, along with nine or 10 customer cars, Gordon told the publication. There was some damage to the house next door to the shop also. Gordon is optimistic that he will be able to find a new temporary location and eventually return to the shop he has called home on North Main Street in Fort Bragg, Cali., for more than 15 years.

A local high school teacher, Tara Larson, began the fundraiser on GoFundMe. As of Thursday, 138 people had donated.
