Shop in Burleson, Texas Celebrates Local Olympian

Aug. 6, 2024
Burleson native Conner Prince recently took home the silver medal in men's skeet shooting.

Brett Morrison, owner of Castrol Premium Lube Express in Burleson, Texas, recently used his shop’s sign to shine the spotlight on a local Olympian, according to an email sent to NOLN from Morrison.

Burleson native Conner Prince is a first-time Olympian who scored the silver medal in men’s skeet shooting, according to the Team USA website. The gold medal went to Vincent Hancock of Eatonton, Georgia. Hankock has been a coach to Prince. The 2024 Olympics are taking place in Paris, France. Events began on Friday, July 26 and will run until Sunday, Aug. 11.

Morrison shared that Prince “has a huge support team back in Burleson.” The shop owner did his part to show this support by highlighting the athlete on his shop’s sign—putting the 24-year-old Olympian’s name front and center.

“First it was Kelly Clarkson from Burleson,” Morrison said in an email, referring to the 2002 American Idol winner who grew up in town. “Now, our very own Conner Prince is bringing home a silver medal in the men’s skeet (shooting) event.”

The full message on Morrison's shop sign reads: "Congratulations Conner Prince bring that silver back to BTX."
