Wisconsin Girl Scouts Learn Auto Maintenance

Around 30 Girl Scouts working to earn a car care badge went to an event teaching automotive maintenance.

March 9, 2023–Girl Scouts in Wisconsin recently had the chance to learn about performing vehicle maintenance from technicians, WEAU 13 reports.

The Chippewa Valley Technical College’s (CVTC) Transportation Education Center held an event on the evening of March 5 where CVTC staff taught local Girl Scouts how to check the battery of a vehicle and perform an oil change.

Margie Stewart is the automotive instructor at CVTC and hopes that seeing several women working on vehicles and teaching the girls how to do it themselves helped the kids feel more comfortable with automotive work.

“They get a chance to see someone like myself, but not only that, we have four other girls that are actually in the automotive industry, in the diesel industry, helping these girls tonight,” Stewart stated.

Around 30 Girl Scouts came to the educational event to work toward earning a car care badge.
