North Carolina Auto Shop Saves Kitten From Car
An auto shop in Raleigh, North Carolina saved a lost kitten from the inside of a vehicle, CBS 17 reports.
Quality Plus Automotive Service, Inc. had received a call from a panicked woman that was attempting to save a kitten that she found “alone in the median on Sunnybrook Road.” She stopped her car and tried to get the kitten to come toward her, but she became frightened and ran into the wheel well of her car.
She called animal control, but upon arriving, they told her she would need to go to an auto shop, so she and the officer met at Quality Plus Automotive Service.
According to the shop, the kitten “kept right on going, far up into the recesses of her car.” One of the shop’s technicians, Chris Hayes, was enlisted to help save the kitten. He lifted up the vehicle and saw the kitten hiding close to the catalytic converter.
Hayes “carefully unbolted and popped off the bottom panel” and was able to access the kitten, who was hidden in the charcoal canister.
The kitten made it out safe and sound, and at only six months old, is staying with a foster home until she is old enough for adoption.
