Hyundai and AAA Announce Partnership

Hyundai has announced a partnership with AAA to offer insurance for vehicles affected by theft.

Hyundai has announced a partnership with AAA to offer insurance for vehicles affected by theft, Jalopnik reports.

Hyundai vehicles have recently been affected by theft as popularized on TikTok. AAA has partnered with the manufacturer to offer insurance for vehicles targeted by thieves.

Vehicles with push-button start and engine immobilizer devices will not be eligible for coverage. Both new and renewable coverage will be offered in states AAA offers coverage in: all except Alaska, Massachusetts, and Washington.

As Hyundai struggles to cope with the increase in vulnerability to theft, as well as “a horrible and slow rollout of anti-theft software and devices,” the partnership comes at a good time, with AAA president and CEO Marshall Doney having described it as a “natural fit.”
