The United States House of Representatives Subcommittee on Innovation, Data, and Commerce, of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, has submitted the REPAIR Act to the full committee for future consideration, according to a press release.
Following a vigorous discussion held yesterday during a markup session on HR 906–commonly referred to as the REPAIR Act–the legislation has passed the Subcommittee and will move forward to be reviewed by the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
The bill faced no objections from any Subcommittee Member. Auto Care Association CEO and President Bill Hanvey named several who helped the REPAIR Act progress to this point: Congressman Neal Dunn, Congressman Brendan Boyle, Congressman Warren Davidson, and Congresswoman Marie Gluesenkamp Perez–the only repair shop owner in Congress, as well as 46 other bipartisan co-sponsors.
“As this fight now moves to the full Committee on Energy and Commerce, I encourage our members to remain diligent with outreach to elected officials to ensure they know that your business depends on the REPAIR Act becoming law,” Hanvey said.
