Groton, Connecticut, Formulates Plans for New Take 5 Oil Change Location

Feb. 5, 2024
The prospective business has had to cooperate with the city of Groton to minimize cross-traffic entering and exiting the oil change facility.

A Take 5 Oil Change is being planned for the town of Groton, Connecticut, reports Patch.

Located at the site of a former restaurant at 671 Long Hill Road, the store is near a Wendy’s and sits across the street from the Groton Shopping Center, which houses a T.J. Maxx and Aldi store.

When site plans were reviewed by the Planning & Zoning Commission during a Dec. 12 meeting, they highlighted concerns with “on-site circulation,” and recommended the business review different driveway location options with the Department of Transportation.

Following the commission’s direction, the applicant looked over four driveway options with DOT, eventually going with a one-way driveway and a one-way exit to minimize cross traffic from vehicles exiting and entering.

The existing building on the .89-acre site will be demolished, with a 1,710-square-foot, single-story facility set to replace it. In addition, new pavement and a new parking lot will be laid down.
