Women of Valvoline Share Maintenance Tips for Women’s History Month
In honor of Women’s History Month, Valvoline is recognizing the women who make up its team by having them share automotive maintenance tips throughout the month, according to a press release.
Though women make up over half of all drivers in the U.S., many of them are uneasy about seeking out automotive services when needed. Laura Carpenter, Valvoline's chief customer officer, said the company refers to this apprehension as “oil change-xiety.”
To combat this, the company will highlight technicians from its over 1,000 female service center employees to help women–and all customers–feel more confident about their vehicles.
Three maintenance areas will be addressed: when it’s time to change an air filter, when to have the tires rotated, and what a fuel cleaning system is.
“I have been in the automotive industry for more than 20 years,” said Sandra Bonge, market manager of Valvoline's Dallas-Fort Worth and central Texas retail service centers. “I have always loved working on vehicles, and I want all customers – especially women – to feel confident when they come into Valvoline for an oil change or any other routine maintenance.”
