Ever since word spread that Clark could be joining the Indiana Fever basketball team, Jiffy Lubes across Indianapolis have wasted no time welcoming her.

Jiffy Lube locations across Indianapolis, Indiana, are celebrating a record-winning athlete who has declared for the WNBA draft of which the Indiana Fever has the first pick, reports the Indy Star.

Caitlin Clark is a University of Iowa basketball player who holds the all-time college basketball scoring record as of March 3, 2024, exceeding the men’s record of 3,667 set by Pete Maravich of Louisiana State University from 1968-70.

Ever since word spread that Clark could be joining the Indiana Fever basketball team, Jiffy Lube stores across Indianapolis have wasted no time welcoming her. Though they don’t often switch up the displays on their reader boards outside, they began broadcasting messages urging Clark to join the Fever once she announced she would declare for the 2024 WNBA draft.

“I woke up one morning and saw the news that the Fever had the first pick and I thought, ‘Let’s have a little fun with this,’ and we’ll put up some messages – ‘Please come join the Fever,’ ‘You’ll love Indianapolis,’ things like that,” said Jiffy Lube of Indiana CEO and President Steve Sanner. “We decided to use the reader boards again and welcome her to Indy and tell her we can't wait to meet her and tell her, home is where the Fever is and a few other messages.”

Sanner said the show of support is not only for Clark, but for the families and kids in the community that are also fans of hers. Actions like this, along with hosting murals for local artists and partnering with law enforcement to provide vehicle repair vouchers, help keep the business at the forefront of customers’ minds.

“We want to find ways to get people to notice us and to think about us on the 362 days a year they don't need an oil change,” explained Sanner.
