TBC Corporation has named Don Byrd as its newest president and chief executive officer in a recent news release.
Byrd first joined TBC in April 2018, leaving his role as COO and president at Tire Centers Incorporated following a 19-year career at Procter & Gamble. Coming on as TBC’s executive vice president as well as president & COO of National Tire Wholesale, he would later assume his current role of chief marketing and strategy officer.
Effective May 1, Byrd will take over the role from Sam Kato, who first took the position a year ago. As part of a transition plan developed by Kato and the TBC Board of Directors, Kato will return to work for TBC shareholder Sumitomo, where he previously worked from 2015 through 2018.
“Don Byrd has worked hand-in-hand with Sam and the other members of TBC’s executive leadership team to build out the company’s current winning strategy,” said Kei Kubota, TBC Corporation board member.
