North Augusta, South Carolina to See First Take 5 Oil Change Soon

July 1, 2024
Operated by franchisee WSM Ventures, a 1,600-square-foot facility is planned for the new store.

Progress has been made towards the first Take 5 Oil Change opening in North Augusta, South Carolina, reports Post and Courier North Augusta.

Operated by franchisee WSM Ventures, the new store would be located at the corner of Atomic and East Martintown roads, housed in a 1,600-square-foot facility. According to North Augusta planning director Tommy Paradise, the property has been unoccupied for years now.

The North Augusta Planning Commission promptly decided to recommend that the City Council rezone an adjacent parcel, a quarter acre at 10139 Atomic Road, from residential to commercial, to be used for a detention pond and parking. It would also provide access to the business from Atomic Road.

While there is one Take 5 location around 30 minutes out in Aiken, and two others in nearby Augusta, this would be the first one to open in North Augusta. WSM Ventures President David Berry estimated that the new store would provide eight to 10 jobs, with business operations having little impact on nearby residents.
