A recent lawsuit filed against Ford is claiming the automaker knowingly sold vehicles with faulty transmissions, according to Top Class Actions.
Included in the mass action are model year 2010-2020 Ford Fusion and 2009-2021 Ford Escape vehicles.
Over 100 plaintiffs have joined the lawsuit, which alleges that defective transmissions have caused violent jerking, delayed acceleration, difficulty stopping, hard decelerations, and premature wear of the internal components.
The lawsuit says the defect is related to a design failure within the interconnected software and hardware systems that keep the transmission operating.
