A Midas franchisee in Maryland participated in restoring a vehicle for a local veteran fighting cancer, as shared with NOLN recently.

Army Ranger SGT Nathan Waldron, a 24-year-old stationed at Fort Benning, is currently undergoing treatment for stage 2 osteosarcoma. While using a rental to get to appointments and see family, he caught the attention of Midas franchisee Robin Mohns.

In addition to recently receiving Midas’ 2024 Mark Smith Community Involvement Award, Mohns also founded The Chris Gives Back Foundation to honor her late husband through car repair assistance for locals.

Mahn’s shop, located in Laurel, Maryland, refurbished a Ford Mustang for Waldron, which was presented to him at the shop by Mohns and her team on April 30. The donation was part of Midas’ Project Spark, which provides reliable transportation to those in need.
