Groove Technologies Releases Universal Cabin Air Filter System for Auto Shops
Groove Technologies, Inc., has launched the Qik-FIT Universal Cabin Air Filter System, which aims to reduce the number of cabin air filter SKUs shops have to manage, according to a press release.
The patented, high-performance polyurethane foam filter fits 80% of cabin air filter sales volume. Its launch follows market research and field tests conducted by Groove Technologies, which found that 44% of shops were carrying more than 25 cabin air filter SKUs, many of which were slow-moving.
50 to 60 part numbers can be consolidated into a single SKU through Qik-FIT, which comes in 10" x 10" pre-scored formats that can be sized on-site.
Qik-FIT’s foundation of polyurethane foam has traditionally been used for clean rooms, surgical suites, HVAC systems, and other demanding applications. It provides an open-cell structure that brings a higher dust-holding capacity and more uniform airflow than conventional pleated paper filters, the company said.
Through independent burst/collapse testing and laboratory testing, Groove Technologies has also confirmed the product’s performance under SAE J1669 and ISO/TS 11155-1. It’s built in the USA, and is designed to meet or exceed efficiency ratings—2-10 microns—compared to leading OE brands.
“Qik-FIT transforms inventory management for auto service centers,” added Farr. "By dramatically reducing storage requirements and inventory costs while providing universal coverage, any shop can now confidently sell a premium, American-made filter that customers love. It's a win-win with higher take rates for shops, better air for drivers, and a smarter approach to how we think about cabin air filtration.”
