The Northwest Auto Care Alliance announced an ongoing fundraising effort for Jerry Smith, journalist, editor, and member of the automotive industry, after a natural disaster nearly destroyed his home. The NWACA Leadership Council refers to Smith as a longtime mentor, advocate, and friend, but Smith's contributions to the automotive industry extend far beyond the Northwest. He's been a cornerstone of automotive journalism for years and was a key part of the creation of the Automotive Training Expo.

A winter storm severely damaged Smith's home, necessitating urgent and costly repairs. That isn't the only challenge Smith is facing--he's also been forced to deal with health issues and temporary housing challenges, as the county deemed the damaged home uninhabitable.

"As an association built on collaboration, service, and taking care of one another, we now have the opportunity to step in—just as Jerry has stepped in for so many of us over the years," the GoFundMe page reads.

Donations can be made through NWACA's GoFundMe page or by directly mailing a check to Jerry Smith, PO Box 67, Ashford, WA, 98304.
