Auto Care Association Urges Immediate Support for Right to Repair Legislation

With Congress expected to advance the REPAIR Act soon, the Auto Care Association is mobilizing industry members and the public to advocate for the legislation.

The Auto Care Association has issued urgent calls for action on the REPAIR Act, saying that action could be taken on the legislation as soon as this week.

As shared in a May 14 email sent out by ACA, the organization is expecting Congress to move forward on the REPAIR Act (H.R. 1566) within the next week. A notice on ACA’s website as of May 21 announces the same as well.

ACA is sharing a link for individuals to submit a letter to their local representatives. The organization is also providing a Right to Repair QR code and urgent campaign visuals to use as LinkedIn profile photos and cover images, and has created a #righttorepair hashtag to promote the REPAIR Act.

“For decades now, we’ve talked about Right to Repair and a federal solution to ensure that our industry has the right to access the data that we were granted. The time is now,” said ACA President and CEO Bill Hanvey in a May 14 video. “You’ve heard many calls to action over the past several years but the next two weeks—the next two weeks—are critical for our industry.”
