June 18, 2019—The Ithaca Times in New York has a Q-and-A with Bruce Blakeslee, owner of Bruce's Pit Stop. The shop is celebrating 50 years in business.
Blakeslee reflects on the state of business after seeing a lot of repeat customers over the years.
From the Times interview:
"More competition in the oil change business and automotive in general. A lot of companies have tried to put me out with free oil changes and whatnot, but I’ve withstood it and am still standing. I kind of relate to Rocky [Balboa] in the movie. That’s how I’ve done my entire career."
Blakeslee said that he's going to keep doing things just as he's done for years.
