New Oil to Combat LSPI and Meet SN Plus

Phillips 66 Lubricants recently announced it is upgrading its full line of passenger car motor oil to tackle the low speed pre-ignition (LSPI) issue that engine mechanics have identified as an increased risk for modern engines, including those with gasoline direct injection (GDI) and turbochargers.

Over 120 million turbocharged GDI-powered vehicles have been produced globally since 2010 and are at risk for LSPI — a condition that occurs when there is a premature ignition of the main fuel charge, resulting in very high pressure spikes, loud noise, power loss, increased fuel consumption and potentially catastrophic damage to the engine.

The upgraded Kendall GT-1 Motor Oil and Phillips 66 Shield Motor Oil formulas began rolling out in March. These products meet the upcoming SN Plus specification, for which first license date is expected early this summer.

Transmission Fluid Reference Chart

Lubegard addresses the problem of knowing what is the correct transmission fluid to use for each vehicle with its recently released 11th Edition OEM ATF and Conversion Chart. The chart not only informs the technician of what the OE fluid is, but it also provides total fill capacity and service fill capacity levels along with other vital information.

The OEM ATF and Conversion Chart shows the OEM whole fluid equivalent as well as Lubegard’s conversion product equivalents that meet and exceed the OE requirements, but at a fraction of the cost of OE fluids.

The chart is a problem-solver and time-saver that will make each center more profitable and produce fewer combeacks. In the brand-new 11th Edition, there is an included detachable Quick Reference Guide that can be mounted as a handy wall chart. Lubegard’s easy to read reference chart will empower all service techs to do a more professional job, produce more satisfied customers and generate more profits for the operator.
