Franchisee Faces Unpaid Wages Lawsuit

Dec. 6, 2019

Jiffy Lube employees across the Ohio region completed training modules without proper compensation for their time.

Dec. 6, 2019—Attorneys have filed a class-action lawsuit in federal court, claiming that an Ohio Jiffy Lube franchisee failed to pay employees for training and other work time.

The complaint is against Team Lubrication, Inc. The franchisee that runs six locations in central Ohio, according to a press release from the law firm Barkan Meizlish DeRose Wentz McInerney Peifer, LLP.

The complaint says that employees across the network completed the Jiffy Lube University training course without compensation. The lawsuit also seeks compensation for the time it takes for employees to put on and take off uniforms at the beginning and end of each shift.

Four former and current employees are named as plaintiffs.

“Wage theft in any form cannot be tolerated. These types of wage violations are far too common in the workplace," Robert E. DeRose, the plaintiff's attorney, said in the press release.
