“It takes months to find a customer and only seconds to lose one,” Pro’s Choice Automotive owner Chad Cowan said as he points to a poster with the popular business slogan.
For Cowan and manager Allan Green, belief in that motto is something they feel can make a successful business.
“We are not just selling the products here, but we believe that giving the customer a great experience is just as important,” Green said.
According to Green, it took over a month of hard work to get the building ready to serve customers.
“It took us seven weeks to get it ready,” Green said. “And we did it all ourselves, working 16 hour days.”
“This building was basically to store junk,” Cowan said with a laugh. “So we had to haul most of it to the dump and then start remodeling.”
Pro’s Choice Automotive, located at 3375 N. 10th Street in Gering, opened Sept. 1 by Cowan and his wife Joni, and provides automotive paint and supply products as well as automotive detailing supplies. By carrying brands such as Matrix, Norton, Carborundum, Pesta, Meguiars and many other brands, Green hopes to appeal to other businesses and car enthusiasts in the area.
“We want to serve local body shops as well as the do-it yourselfers,” Green said. “We will work with you on price but also on the step-by-step education in order to get the job done.”
The education that Green talks about is a very important part of the business and just one way to keep those customers that can take so long to get. Green said they hope to start offering I-CAR training, which provides the knowledge and skills required to perform complete, safe and quality repairs.
Pro’s Choice Automotive’s grand opening is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17. To help celebrate the new business, Ryan Evans from the popular History Channel show Counting Cars will be on hand to sign autographs and talk “shop” with customers and visitors. Along with Evans, the grand opening will have door prizes and lunch available.
