Sept. 22, 2021—Valvoline Instant Oil Change has received approval from Lawrence, Kan., municipal officials to build a new location in the city.

According to the Lawrence Journal World, the new shop will be built where an old US Bank building used to stand about a mile south of the University of Kansas campus. The new location will be about 2,000 square feet and, according to documents filed with city hall, will cost about $1.1 million to build.

No timeline for construction was provided, but the report says the project has received "most of the major approvals it needs" from the city to begin construction and is just waiting on its site plan approval.
