The town of Beaverton, Michigan will finally see an oil change shop after lacking one for years, Midland Daily News reports.

Lou Stornello and his wife moved to Beaverton, Michigan in 1999, and bought T & J Automotive in 2020 from the previous owner. Lou soon realized the shop was not equipped to handle the amount of oil change requests it was receiving, which resulted in “turning away a lot of oil changes a day,” he said.

Around two weeks ago, following a couple of months of planning, the Stornellos expanded their shop and opened Service Pro Quick Lube–T & J Automotive Maintenance, located at 120 Ross Street. It’s “next door and across their parking lot” from the original shop at 100 Ross Street, and sits behind Beaverton’s historic Gem Theater.

Tina said that the shop was previously an oil change facility but hadn’t been operated in years. The Stornellos saw an opportunity when the building’s original owner left.

They’re now experiencing more business with the capability to handle it. Josh Seago of Beaverton’s APM Mosquito Control said that the facility is able to service their entire fleets.

“We were so backed up in the shop, we couldn’t get the oil changes done,” Lou said. “Now, there is plenty of room to do what we need to do.”
