With July being designated as Right to Repair Awareness Month, the Auto Care Association’s (ACA) Marketing and Communications committee has called on the industry to voice support for right-to-repair legislation to their local representatives, according to a press release.
The campaign comes as a response to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration instructing automakers to dismiss the recently-enacted Massachusetts Data Access Law and to spread awareness for passing the REPAIR Act on a federal level.
The ACA has provided ways to get involved through resources on its website, such as a QR code that, if scanned, will send an automated letter to a local congressperson urging them to support the REPAIR Act.
Also provided are promotional materials to be used for company-wide promotional campaigns that may be downloaded online as well as resources for businesses to have their local congressperson visit with them.
Finally, they encourage using the #righttorepair hashtag on social media throughout July to voice support and increase visibility, with editable content available on their website for others to download and share.
The ACA will recognize companies that participate in educating their staff on the issue and invite them to share their efforts with the organization.
