TBC Corporation Expands Support for Higher Education in Florida
TBC Corporation has been expanding its contributions to higher education near its headquarters in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, according to a press release.
Following a gift from TBC to support college programs and activities for students, Florida Atlantic University’s College of Business recently celebrated the naming of the TBC Corporation Study Room.
Located in the Executive Education Building in the Schmidt Family Complex in Boca Raton, Florida, the space is primarily for students, but the college also uses it for events, including breakout sessions for conferences and meeting rooms for external events. TBC will also be providing guest speakers and will co-host networking events to inform students about internship and career opportunities.
“We’re proud to have our company name associated with a space that will be used by the
next generation of business leaders at Florida Atlantic’s College of Business,” said Don Byrd,
chief executive officer of TBC. “With our company’s headquarters in Palm Beach
Gardens, this strategic partnership will provide access to networking, mentoring and potential
career opportunities for future leaders in South Florida.”
In addition, TBC awarded five scholarships, totaling $15,000, to Palm Beach State College students who have completed their Associate of Science degree and plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree in supervision and management at PBSC.
Presented at the school’s Academic Excellence & Student Service Awards ceremony, the scholarships will provide financial assistance to students preparing for careers in entrepreneurship, general management, project management, or business management.
“As a Palm Beach Gardens-based company, we’re proud to partner with Palm Beach State College to support local students with their educational pursuits,” said Megan Filoon, chief human resources officer for TBC. “We recognize that education is a key driver of innovation and progress, and as a large employer in the area, we’re committed to supporting the next generation of business leaders in this community.”
