Plans for a new Valvoline Instant Oil Change in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, have received approval, reports WKTS.

The proposed store would be located along South Business Drive, between Avis and Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen. Approval was also granted to a Crash Champions shop that will be built behind the Valvoline.

The City Plan Commission approved plans for both stores on Sept. 9, with Mayor Ryan Sorenson being the only nay vote for the Valvoline proposal. Sorenson had doubts as to whether it was the best use for the property, which has been vacant since 2019.

The property is currently owned by St. Nicholas Hospital, which bought it in 2020 following the closure of Maple Lanes Bowling Funplex a year prior. Prevea Health planned to open a clinic there, but eventually decided not to, and later put the land up for sale.

Dean Sulok, franchise owner of Valvoline, said up to 45 vehicles could be served daily at the proposed store. Six new jobs will also be created with its launch.
