STLE Hosting Two-Day Lubrication Training for Industry Beginners and Professionals
The Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers will be hosting an Interactive Lubrication Training Experience on February 10 and 11, at Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio, Texas, according to a press release.
The two-day, hands-on course is designed for those who are new to the industry and those who want to solidify their skills that will combine classroom and laboratory training. The classroom focus will be the basics of lubrication, components used to formulate oils and greases, application, and lubricant selection.
The laboratory portion of the course will focus on lubricant testing, which will supplement the classroom training by experiencing the analysis first-hand and further understanding how lubricants are selected and analyzed.
Presenters will include Raymond Drost of Calumet, Inc.; Jake Finn of Petro-Canada America Lubricants; Dr. Peter Lee of Southwest Research Institute; Tom Malinski of Chevron Phillips; Lake Speed Jr. of SPEEDiagnostix, LLC; David Turner of CITGO Petroleum Corp.; and Andrew Velasquez of Southwest Research Institute.
“The new STLE Interactive Lubrication Training Experience is a unique opportunity to learn the fundamentals of lubrication through hands-on experience in the lab as well as classroom instruction,” said Rebecca Lintow, CAE, STLE executive director. “We are excited to offer this training at the world-class laboratory environment of Southwest Research Institute.”
