Short Circuit Fire Risk in Ford SUVs Prompts Recall
A fire risk has led to Ford issuing a recall for thousands of vehicles in the U.S., reports Courier Journal.
Included in the recall are a total of 4,632 vehicles, comprising certain 2020 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator vehicles.
The battery junction box in these vehicles is prone to short circuiting, which can cause an engine fire when the vehicle is either parked or in drive.
Ford has instructed vehicle owners to park recalled cars outside and away from structures and other vehicles. To resolve the issue, dealers will inspect and replace battery junction boxes as needed. Notices were mailed to owners Sept. 25.
