Ford Initiates Recall for Bronco and Bronco Raptor Over Wiring Short Circuit Concerns
Ford has issued a recall for over 500,000 Bronco vehicles due to a defect presenting a fire risk, reports CBS News.
The recall includes Bronco and Bronco Raptor vehicles from model years 2021 to 2026, accounting for a total of up to 565,691 vehicles.
Per the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the issue stems from the vehicles’ wiring harness, which is prone to short circuiting if damaged. This can lead to smoke or a fire occurring.
It’s estimated that approximately 1% of recalled vehicles are impacted by the issue. Ford will install sheathing over the wiring in recalled vehicles to resolve the problem, with notices being mailed out to owners beginning Aug. 24.
