Maryland Community College Launches Entry Level Automotive Technician Program
Automotive technicians in Maryland have gained a new resource for training with the launch of a new Automotive Service Technician program at Hagerstown Community College, reports The Tri-State Alert.
The four-course program will begin in January and end near the end of the summer. Students will receive hands-on lab instruction to equip them with entry level skills in automotive repair and maintenance. Students who complete the 200-hour program will be eligible to sit for various ASE exams.
Applications are now open, with limited scholarships available. Information about the course can be found on the Hagerstown Community College website.
“We are excited to launch the auto tech program, which will provide another opportunity for students searching for a career pathway, and will assist local dealerships in addressing staffing challenges,” said Jack Drooger, senior program manager for Workforce Training at HCC.
