Valvoline to Open New Oil Change Location in Bloomington, Indiana

A new Valvoline Instant Oil Change is looking to open soon in Bloomington, Indiana, reports The Herald-Times.

The location would be at 250 S. Pete Ellis Drive, on the east side of Bloomington, just south of a Goodwill store. It was formerly a Pizza Hut. There’s currently an existing Valvoline store nearby on Liberty Drive, outside city limits.

Spanning 0.54 acres, the property was acquired last summer by Bryan Rental Inc. from Bryan Rental LLC, which had purchased it the previous February from Norman W. Deckard for $1 million.

Valvoline is requesting an exemption from maximum drive width and maximum parking regulations for the new store, with a public hearing on the request having been held on April 23. Gabriel Holbrow, a zoning planner with the Bloomington Planning and Transportation department, said the project is unlikely to need approvals from the plan commission or city council, and expects the site plan to be approved by the planning department.
