Sept. 30, 2019

September 30, 2019—Responding to a growing electric vehicle market, Valvoline revealed a line of three fluids and one grease aimed squarely at EV operations.

The new products include heat transfer fluid, drive system fluid, brake fluid and a grease. According to a press release, Valvoline had an EV strategy team leading the development of these fluids.

"We've researched, tested and proven this line's capabilities in our own labs and using real-time data in real-world conditions," chief technology officer Fran Lockwood said in the release. "That rigorous testing process from our technical team ensures that each EV Performance Fluid meets the highest standards of this rapidly advancing category."

The products will help EV batteries maintain temperature, protect powertrains, prevent brake corrosion and help avoid seal bearing failure. Valvoline says it expects to present more similar products in the coming weeks.
