Nov. 14, 2022—A vehicle inspection center in Massachusetts is getting a change in ownership.

According to the Greenfield Recorder, former owner Beth Lorenz recently sold the center to 26-year-old Zain Naveed. The business will be known as Z's Inspection Center. Naveed is no stranger to business ownership. He owns several other businesses in the area, including: Z's Corner, Z’s Laundromat and Z’s Express Tanning Salon.

Lorenz recently decided to retire after 20 years at the center, prompting the sale to Naveed. Lorenz is confident that Naveed is the right fit to carry on her legacy. Some of the plans that Naveed has for the business include the addition of a third bay, hiring more inspectors and eventually adding automotive detailing as a service at the center. The center is not yet open under Naveed's ownership, as the Registry of Motor Vehicles still needs to process all the documentation.

Changes recently took effect in Massachusetts for vehicle inspection stickers. Stickers will no longer show the date in which the vehicle was last inspected. Now, the date will show a future date that informs when the next inspection is due. Lorenz told the Greenfield Recorder that the change will promote consistency for vehicle inspections and will "bring a flow of income to the commonwealth on a more regular basis.”
